Every August people would walk all the way from Rome in procession to worship Diana (the Roman counterpart of Artemis) and leave votives, in the hope of curing ailments, to ask for easy childbirth or fertility. It emanates a feeling of calm and is still surrounded by thick woodlands. Really a place not to be missed on your itinerary if you are in Rome.
